Calling all teens in 8th-12th grade!  We need your help!

Since Covid-19 hit, JFS has been unable to give out clothing through our Tara’s closet program and needs your help reimagining how they can ensure that their clients continue to have access to free clothes.

Working in teams to solve Tara’s Closet’s dilemma, teens will pitch their creative and out-of-the-box ideas to panel of “sharks.”  Not only will the chosen team win a cash prize of $200, but more importantly the plan will be implemented at Tara’s Closet and benefiting people in need.

If you are signing up as part of a team, all team members must fill out a sign up form. Teams can have between 3-5 members.

Contestants will meet virtually on 9/30, 10/7 and 10/14. The program link will be provided in an email prior to the event.

Day 1 (9/30)- Teams will learn about Tara’s Closet and have the opportunity to dig deep with JFS leadership to better understand their problem. Using design thinking, teams will spend time ideating and thinking of all the ways to accomplish this goal – both possible and not. Teams will have defined the problem at hand and will be thinking of possible solutions. Additionally, Teams will create prototypes and test their ideas as a group to decide on one solution to present to the “sharks”.

Day 2 (10/7)- Groups will test their ideas and start working on their presentation for the judges.

Day 3 (10/14)-Teams will present their idea to the judges who will make a decision on the winning team.
