Every week teens will come together to eat dinner & socialize with their friends at JTConnect! Following dinner, teens will learn together with guest Rabbis, Educators and Professionals who will lead discussions, projects and field trips.

Monday nights from 7:00-8:40 pm
, teens have the opportunity to explore their connection to Jewish traditions and values with their peers from throughout the Greater Hartford community.  Meeting at Beth El Temple in West Hartford, the program is open to teens from 8th through 12th grade. 
 
The year is divided into 4 terms, each with its own theme:
 
Term 1: Kehillah Kedosha - Building Intentionally Holy Community
What does it mean to be engaged in building sacred community?
How do I build meaningful relationships within my Jewish community?
What are my responsibilities both as a member of the community and as a builder of the community?

Term 2: Tikkun Olam - Building the World We Want to Live In
What does it mean to be engaged in repairing the world?
What responsibilities do we have as Jews to engage in social justice activities?
What problems and issues are in need of our repairing?

Term 3: Zachor - Building on the Memory of the Past
What responsibility do we have to bear witness?
How can understanding our history heighten our understanding of racism and prejudice?
How does knowing the past help us understand the present and plan for the future?

Term 4: Ahavat Y’srael - Building our Relationships with Israel
What does it mean to love Israel (People, Land, and State)?
How do we express our love for Israel in America?
What are my responsibilities as both an American and a Jew toward Israel?
How can learning about the complexities and narratives of Israel enhance my relationship with Israel?
