Our Summer of Service (SOS) Program is a weeklong social action camp
offering teens (7th-10th graders) the chance to explore need in the world and our local community, develop key leadership skills and build relationships, and take a deep dive into understanding the causes and organizations they were volunteering with each day. Every morning we ran a program that included intentional community building, Jewish intention setting with local clergy, and exploration about needs/causes we care about as a community. Teens then embarked on their volunteer opportunity, after which they enjoyed a spirited afternoon of fun and recreation together. This wonderful experience wouldn’t be possible without our local synagogue partners and clergy, and generous donors who ensured scholarships were available to students who needed them. Thank you for hosting this special program, Congregation Beth Israel – we appreciate your partnership so much!
