We at JTConnect have been closely monitoring the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation and have been in constant communication with our partner agencies and community leaders. We want to do what is best for the community. Based on these conversations and the decisions made by local school districts, JTConnect will be suspending all JTConnect programming starting this Sunday, March 15.
The JTConnect Board and I do not take this action lightly, but believe that it is in the best interest of our community. We know that JTConnect is a place where teens come to be with friends and build a Jewish community – a refuge from their busy lives. At JTConnect, our goal remains to provide a rich educational experience and social community for Jewish teens. We plan on introducing ways for our teens to stay connected even when we are not physically together.
Additionally, we understand that people of all ages are concerned about the spread of the coronavirus, and teenagers, as a group, tend to experience emotions especially intensely. There are many ways that we can help teens manage anxiety. We are encouraging our teens to reach out to Eric (617.780.2916) or Cara (845.570.0821) if they are feeling scared, anxious or just need someone to talk to.
We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to provide updates as quickly as we can. Our hope is that we are able to return to regular programming in two weeks and will be in touch when we plan to return. Our highest priority is, and always will be, the safety, health and well-being of our students, staff and community.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions.
L’shalom,
